Island Climbing spring preview. Filmed at Samsun Narrows and Cyberia
by Graham on Monday, May 05, 2008
Hey Smithgirl, I'm in the same boat-I haven't climbed in nearly a year and I'm anxious to get back at it (and looking for climbing partners in Vic). Send me an email if you're still looking for climbing partners at erica.mk.lay@gmail.com (this is a friend's sign in).

Hi. I would suggest just coming down to crag x and doing some bouldering to meet people. There are always quite a few people bouldering that you can join in with, and everyone is quite friendly. Just start asking around at the gym and I'm sure you can get find some people to climb with.

Hey all,
I'm just getting into making some Island climbing videos. My first attempt at anything is nothing special, but here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rndvnMdWm1k . If you have any videos to share, or beta on making them, then that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

I'm not sure where to get that guide, maybe Peter. But there is another Victoria Bouldering guide in the works. Patience.
New Site Design and Features
by ericgoodwin on
Thursday, May 01, 2008
I've been working on the island climbing site for the past year or so off and on and have decided to deploy the new changes. A couple things will be missing for a little while but should be back soon. The main thing is everyones pictures and comments on news articles.
We have some cool new features though including some great google maps integration. You can now pick your 'homebase' and the site is then customized from that city or town from then on, letting you know how far things are away from you. You can change this homebase at any time by clicking on the change link under the island climbing logo. For quite a few of the areas, there will also be directions on how to drive to the area. To check out the new directions feature, have a look at one of the gyms in the gym section.
I also added some good support for area admins, something that I was working on in the last site but never finished well enough to deploy it. I'll be adding people as area admins soon.
Hopefully people like the new site and find it easy to use. I'll be adding in more crag info soon.

I was just up at firewall last week and it was getting pretty dry for the most part. The 5.9 on the far right was still pretty wet, but the rest wasn't too bad.
