Hey,
Just moved to Victoria and am looking for climbing partners. I lead high 10's, low 11's sport (trying to learn trad). Looking for crag, gym, bouldering partners. Also anyone looking for basic mountaineering this summer.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Dee, I'm working with Subaru to help outdoor enthusiasts join the Get Out More community (www.subaru.ca/getoutmore) and post their unique or unknown outdoor spots.
We're currently sending out the site to outdoor enthusiasts to test it out and provide us with their feedback. If you love to get out, www.subaru.ca/getoutmore is the place for you. The site maps the most unique, satisfying and underrated activities in Canada, as experienced and shared by a community of fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Find a new place to escape to, or show off your savvy and upload your own breath of fresh air. You can also enter to win great prizes for sharing an outdoor spot with the community.

Below is the post that Francis put up last winter. I have not been there so the beta is not my own. Hope this helps.
Here is some beta. Siler Streak, Mt. Arrowsmith AI2, 5.5, 200m It mostly goes 4th class with the exit out of the gully being a short mid fifth traverse. Route is located on the east face of the ridge connecting the south and main summits. Approach: From main summit head down ridge towards south summit. Scramble down the second gully to your left to get to the bottom of the face. Hike south to reach the bottom of the Silver Streak gully. An alternate approach may be to rappel from the notch below the Nose From the bottom of the Silver Streak Gully climb ice or snow to reach the first short rock step, continue from there past one more step. Near the top of the gully climb the face traversing right to exit the gully. 5.5 section. FB

Was at Boston Falls yesterday (Jan 20), no ice to speak of. Could see chunks of ice at the base of the face that had obviously come off in the warm temps. Hope it cools down.

Can anybody direct me to the proper authority pertaining to bolting routs in the CRD? There are a few areas worthy of development, but I'm not sure what the regulations are, or who to talk to about it.

The new Climbers' Access Society of BC site was launched today. The old site was getting outdated and was hard to maintain. With the new site members will be able to track their membership and subscribe to feeds so that they can be kept up to date with the latest access news from their area. Check it out at http://www.access-society.ca/. The site is a bit bare at the moment but will be filling up as we get time.
